According to a study, 93 percent of pregnant women hospitalised with COVID-19 were unvaccinated.

The majority of women hospitalised with the virus in 2021 were unvaccinated, according to a research. The average age of pregnant women with symptoms was 28.

According to a study published in Research Square last Monday, the vast majority (93 percent) of women who were both pregnant and hospitalised with COVID-19 were determined to be unvaccinated.

In the third trimester, the majority of hospitalizations occur.

The study completed a medical chart abstraction for roughly 336 hospitalised pregnant women who were infected with SARS-CoV-2 out of a total of 905 pregnant women in the study, which was not peer-reviewed by a journal. Non-pregnant women between the ages of 15 and 49 were also included in the study.

The average age of symptomatic pregnant women was 28 years old, with 12 percent having asthma and approximately 9 percent having hypertension.

During the third trimester, more than 70% of pregnant women in the research were admitted to the hospital.

In the study, a small percentage of pregnant women who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 had abortions (5.4%) and 3.5 percent suffered stillbirths (3.5%).
